Different Kinds of Pain
Acute Pain is an injury with short term pain
Chronic Pain lasts more than 3 months
Neuropathic Pain is pain caused by damage to the nervous system resulting in tingling, burning, pins & needle sensations. Neuropathic pain can be common in diseases such as multiple sclerosis, injuries such as herniated discs, and infections such as shingles.
Whether you’re a professional athlete, a weekend warrior or just an ordinary person doing everyday activities… young to not so young, you’ve probably had:
Sunburn, pulled muscle, muscle spasms, tendonitis, arthritic pain, joint pain rashes, itching, eczema, bug bites, acne, minor abrasions, radiation therapy, chemical or thermal burns, tattoo application or removal, laser resurfacing, and more.…. But chances are you’ve had:
In 1992 Scientists discovered our bodies have an Endocannabinoid System which works to restore normal (homeostasis) or balance after pain and/or injury and is found throughout our bodies but mostly in our nervous system.
Our body’s endocannabinoid system is a collection of cell receptors and molecules that help regulate essential functions of the skin, nervous system and the rest of your body. So “endocannabinoid” means cannabis-like substances that are found naturally inside our body. They actually named our endocannabinoid system after the Cannabis Plant!
To stimulate these receptors, our bodies produce endocannabinoid molecules, cannabinoids which are structurally similar to molecules found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. CBD influences our bodies to use its own endocannabinoids more effectively and limits inflammation.
If we upset the natural balance in our body (homeostasis) from pain or injury, our Endocannabinoid system takes over to help your body return to its ideal operation.
Once the endocannabinoids are finished and have brought your body back into balance, enzymes break down what isn’t needed.
